When CLAC embarked upon the development of its Supervisor Micro Certification Program (SMCP) it was with the intention to teach anyone with a leadership role in the construction sector what it means to be a people-centric leader.  

We have learned a lot since then.

We have learned that a lot of your supervisors, lead hands and forepersons are people centric, they do put the success and safety of their team first. 

We have learned that it's not enough to be people-centric, you also have to take the time to get to know your team, understand the similarities and differences between them.

We have learned that leaders have to be able to direct, coach and mentor in order for their teams to thrive.
